FAQ

What rules and regulations affect Drone use?
RPAS is the official International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) term for such aircraft. They are also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and Drones.
The New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority has a very useful FAQ page  and a page covering the rules and regulations for where you can fly. There is also a guide on our website.
Also check your Local Council website as Councils have their own rules about flying over public land and some have additional regulations.

Will my order get to me before _________?
If you plan to give one of our items as a gift, please allow additional time for shipping, as couriers do not guarantee shipping times. We are not responsible for items that do not arrive before the occasion.

Is x item in stock?
If you can add it to your cart, it is currently in stock in NZ.

Why is my tiny battery in a box?
There are requirements for sending Lithium batteries by post. They must be sent in a box, and that is the smallest box we can send.

Can I cancel/change my address/order?
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to change or cancel your order. If the order has already been sent, we will be unable to do so. Please note that we will not issue a cancellation or refund due to "change of mind". All order cancellations are at our discretion.

Do the drones need to be connected to WiFi to operate?
Drones that use WiFi to communicate to a Smartphone use the WiFi built into your smartphone and the drone so there is no cost or need to purchase anything else. It does not use your phone providers connection and therefore does not need phone service or use your data allowance. You do need to download an app to use this functionality. If travelling overseas we suggest you download the app while you still have a connection at home so you don't have to use overseas data roaming costs.

Can you get x part?
If it is for a drone model that we sell or have sold in the past, we can get parts sent directly from our supplier to you, which will take 7-15 working days. Fill out the form on the Contact Us page with the parts details to make an order. Unfortunately due to the wide variation of parts for drones we can only supply parts for drones we sell.

Also see our Support pages for an explanation of terms, links, videos and more.

Have a question we haven't answered? Please fill out the form on the "Contact Us" page.
